Making It Episode 2 Recap & Inspiration Project

Making It Episode 2 Recap & Inspiration Project

Everyone loves a rainbow right? I mean, what is not to like? Bright colors, calm after the storm, little green leprechauns, pots of gold, these are all good things in my book! When I was very little I was completely obsessed with rainbows, I have always been obsessed with color really. I even decided when I was old enough to drive I would have a rainbow car. My brother whom is 10 years older let me know that wasn’t a real thing. My mom still loves to tell that story to this day, ha ha!

I remember having a strong connection to my “salmon” crayon. I would beg my mom for the biggest crayon box they had with the most colors imaginable, the smaller boxes didn’t offer the “salmon” hue and that was just not acceptable in my book.

For this very reason I knew making a rainbow inspired fort for my Master Craft challenge was a no brainer. All kids love rainbows, both boys and girls can enjoy the spectrum of beautiful hues. Why not add a cloud or 2 to rest on with sweet little faces, and maybe even a sun that reminds me of the “small world” ride at Disneyland. Again, all things I love so much!

I wanted to create a rainbow that all of you could hang on your wall. I also hope that these sweet little clouds will make your kids and even you very happy!

XO,
Jo

    Hi Jo,

I was watching Making It over the summer and just fell in love with the Rainbow Fort you created. I am a 4K teacher in Wisconsin and I was wondering if you would be willing to share the directions and materials for making the rainbow fort so I could have one for my class. It’s important to have a space for children to go to relax and have some alone time, and I feel like your rainbow fort is the perfect place for that.

    Thank you so much, Greta
